Cover with non-stick bandage. Repeat for twice daily applications. Do not use if allergic to bee venom or bee products. Do not use on children under the age of two. Active Manuka Honey - True Active Manuka honey will be signified by a UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) number to designate its level of activity. As an ointment, a level of ten or higher is best. Wound Honey has an Activity rating or UMF of 12+.

I got a severe leg wound (38 staples) while on a cruise, in the Dominican Republic, in January. When I got back to the states, I was told to use Santyl on my wound, at about $600 per tube. I went to the wound center in March, and the doctor used a medical grade honey on my leg. I asked about getting the honey when the Santyl ran out, and she said I could order Dr Nordyke's Wound Honey at less than $30 a tube, and use that. Besides being way more affordable, it's 100% natural . My leg is healing just as well with this honey as it was the Santyl. The Wound honey says it also works on scars, but I will have to wait until fully healed to know about that. So glad I found out about this product.
