So, I had my Jellyfish-based power-pop playlist going on Pandora one day a couple of years back, and it popped out with, "Way Too Long," by the Milk and Honey Band. And I stopped dead in my tracks and said, "What is that? WHO is that? Must have! I need it! I need it now!!!"I pretty much immediately purchased the album, here at Amazon, and it's been in semi-constant rotation ever since.IMHO, they blow their wad a bit by having "Way Too Long as the first track; some days I have trouble getting past that one song, I just want to play it over and over again. And I'm so not the kind of person who does that; generally, I HATE people who do that. But there's just something about it that hooks me every time. Whenever I start a new Amazon Cloud playlist, it's the first track I look for. No matter what kind of day I'm having, it makes me feel better. If I'm already feeling good, it makes me feel GREAT.That said, the rest of the album is brilliant. It's melodic, the harmonies are well done, it's poppy but interesting. It's a bit moody and somber for a while, and then it's bright and upbeat (but with just the right set of minor chords thrown in here and there to make your ears purr).I love it. I just love it. I never get tired of it. And it came up in the playlist, and I realized I'd never reviewed it, and that's just criminal - more people need to know how great this album is.Regarding the comparisons to XTC... yeah, OK, that's part of it. But there's also some Beach Boys, and some Beatles, and maybe some ELO, and something else that's all their own. If you're an XTC fan, then yes - definitely, try them out. If you're not... try them out, anyway. ;-)
