I have owned several of the predecessors to this dispenser. They only lasted for a short time before they misfunctioned. But while they worked - they were messy - frequently shooting soap all over themselves, the counter, the mirror and much of the bathroom.This one has evolved in many ways. First, it is much sleeker than its predecessors. It has no separate base. It simply sits on the counter with a fine shadow line at the bottom. The fill-cap fits flush, so the whole unit is a free-form shape with no interruption. It looks great on my countertop.Functionally it works better than all of its predecessors, too. It has a much larger capacity. It delivers the soap downward, only occasionally if it has not been used for a while will it spray a little sideways. This one has a window that shows how much soap remains. The on-off button is located on the bottom of the unit so it is invisible. The dispensing sensor is so precise that it never goes off unintentionally. Surprisingly, I can both wipe off and refill the unit without turning it off and without tripping the sensor.Did I say it looks super on my counter top. This is by far the best hands-free soap dispenser I have found. And I have owned many.
