I bought it so our church kids can serve themselves hot chocolate this winter. It's attractive, the deep lacquer red color distinguishes it from our black coffee carafes, and it keeps liquid warm enough for a couple of hours (do not believe the 12-hour boast!). Good materials, good seal, good valve/pouring mechanism, sturdy handle, and all but the littlest kids can use it without trouble. Not thermoplastic so it won't tolerate being dropped onto an uncarpeted floor. All in all, I'm quite satisfied; a good value for my $20.
